I didn’t go to junior or senior prom because I thought I was too fat and wouldn’t look good in a dress. If I could go back in time and tell 16 year old me something, it would be don’t let your insecurities hold you back from living your life. Don’t compare yourself to others, and don’t hate yourself for who you’re not. Love yourself for who you are, and realize that even the tiniest of talents can be turned into something extraordinary.
I hated high school more than anything. I was lonely and had no friends by the time I left. But if I had the confidence I had now, I could have lived those lonely days with meaning. I wish somebody told me that when I was 16. Who knows where I would be today.
If anyone is reading this, just remember that you are beautiful and unique, and only you can take that from yourself. Drown your flaws with your perfections, and perfect the things you drown. Don’t let the atmosphere you live in affect who you are and who you can be. Some of my greatest progress as a person came from being completely alone.
